A Builder and a Dreamer

Bringing homes back from ruin is a passion for the owners of Sydbe Homes.

It all started at a school campout at Possum Kingdom Lake in 2014. Charley, a builder, and Dan, a marketing and property management pro, were volunteer chaperones for their daughters’ 5th grade class campout. As the fathers of daughters, they stayed in their own cabin instead of with the class, giving them a chance to learn about one another. Taking some time away from the energetic 5th graders, they talked and relaxed into the night getting to know one another and forming a friendship. Along with learning about each other’s families and interests, they also discovered they shared a mutual passion for restoring older houses and making the struggling homes once again proud members of their neighborhood.

Over time the idea of a business was developed. A business that wasn’t about moving houses for a quick profit but focused on helping their community and the owners of distressed homes. In a world that is rushing to the new and shiny, they saw an opportunity in restoring what had been neglected and saving what was nearly lost. This old world value has served them well and is the basis for their business to this day.

Family Focused

Sydbe respects homeowners situations by honoring the memories of family homes. It is our privilege to assist in transitioning homes from one family to another. We take that obligation seriously. As a family-owned business, Sydbe’s focus is on restoring homes to provide a new generation with the pride of home ownership. Restored homes benefit neighborhoods and strengthen families and communities.

When we remodel a house, we're thinking about 3 things – the quality of construction and materials, updating the home for modern use, and affordability for the buyer.
